Our sin makes us guilty. We stand condemned before a holy and just God.
Our sin also makes us sick. It’s like a cancer eating away at us from the inside out. It leaves us powerless.
We need to be rescued from our sin, but we are too sinful to rescue ourselves.
What’s the solution?
The gospel is.
Paul says of the good news, “It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes ... This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith” (Romans 1:16-17).
God’s love reaches out to us in our depravity and despair and saves us if we put our faith in Jesus. It’s exactly what we needed and beyond anything we could have expected.
The good news is for everyone – everyone who believes in Jesus can be saved. And so, everyone needs to hear it. We need to live unashamed.
